what to do? cont...

10. Browsers: Making your work so that it is the same on all browsers is impossible. Get over it. The whole point of the web is diversity, that anyone with any computer could view at least some of your information.
There are at least 148+ browsers out there (Yahoo).
Their are versions for different platforms (Mac, Windows, Unix).
Their are different versions of the same browser, Explorer 4.5, Explorer 5.0, etc.
Most people are using Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer.

Why does all this matter? Because if your user cannot see your work, why even make it. Old browser versions die hard. Why so? Because many people have machines that won't run later versions of a browser, or don't even know that they can upgrade, or they have 100s of machines at work that need to run the same software and would all need to be upgraded (which for some may be unnecessary if they think things are already working).
