---Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 - 1860)

Vision - It reaches beyond the thing that is, into the conception of what can be. Imagination gives you the picture. Vision gives you the impulse to make the picture your own.
--- Robert Collie

I shut my eyes in order to see.
---Paul Gauguin (1848 - 1903)

Visual literacy is an emerging area of study which deals with visual interpretation of what we see.

It can involve the study of: the physical processes involved in visual perception; the use of technology to represent visual imagery; and intellectual strategies used to interpret and understand what is seen.
